Improved Shoulder Mobility

The Apley’s scratch test is a great way to assess shoulder ROM and coordination. ⁣

This test combines motions at the shoulder to see if you have normal mobility, which is very important because having decreased shoulder mobility forces you to compensate during your swing sequence⁣

This in turn leads to a loss of distance, inconsistent ball striking and increased risk for injury.⁣

Reaching up and over tests your shoulder FLEXION, ABDUCTION and EXTERNAL ROTATION.⁣

Reaching down and under tests your shoulder EXTENSION, ADDUCTION and INTERNAL ROTATION.⁣

CORRECTIVE ROUTINE (Do this routine 5 days/week)⁣

1 Inhibit the latissimus dorsi/teres major for 30 sec – 2 min/side⁣

2 Inhibit the posterior shoulder for 30 sec – 2 min/side⁣

3 Inhibit the pectoralis major/minor for 30 sec – 2 min/side⁣

Not Sure Where to Start?

Hi, I'm Thomas...

I understand what it is like to live with low back pain because I have three bulging discs and osteoarthritis in my low back. I learned how to not only manage my low back pain, but eliminate it almost entirely and without prescription drugs. I can teach you how to do the same.
